Recently finished this quilt for a family member who is a Civil War Buff. It is 4 feet by 7 feet, the size that was requested by the Sanitary Commission during the War. I tied it as I felt that that was what would have been done by the ladies during this time.
I mailed it out today to Ma so it should be there in a few days. The backing is brown and white gingham check fabric.

Boy, you have a whole lot of beautiful quilts, including this Civil war inspired one. I thought that the Sanitary Commission information was very interesting.
